Intermediate 0.075 Retinal Antioxidant Peptide Cerum - Anti-Ageing

Intermediate 0.075 Retinal Antioxidant Peptide Cerum - Anti-Ageing

1 total reviews

A pro-active serum formulated with 0.075% Retinaldehyde to challenge the effects of time on ageing skin. Fights wrinkle, reduces pigmentation and firms skin whilst protecting it from everyday external stresses. Your weapon for the war against time.

Retinaldehyde, commonly referred to as retinal, is at least 10x more efficient than traditional retinol, enabling you to see results much more quickly. Nano-sized liposomal retinaldehyde is even more powerful; the active Retinal is stabilised and preserved in a protective sphere that penetrates deep into the skin. Once absorbed, the retinal becomes active after the skin's enzymatic processes break down the protective outer sphere, releasing the retinal, which then begins to take effect.

Suitable for individuals with previous experience using retinol or its derivatives.

Nano-Size Liposomal Retinaldehyde penetrates deeper and acts faster than traditional retinol, helping reduce wrinkles and fine lines while lifting, firming, and toning for younger-looking skin.

Nobel Prize-winning Ingredient Juvinity™ for maintaining youthful skin quality.

Liposomal Tetrapeptide Decorinyl® is a liposome tetrapeptide that mimics the structure of decorin for smoother, more resilient skin.

Osmolytes - assist in maintaining tight skin junctions and reducing trans-epidermal water loss (TEWL).

Antioxidants and Vitamins A, B, C, and E to mitigate irritation and promote brighter, clearer, luminous skin.

Pentavitin offers superior, long-lasting hydration compared to hyaluronic acid.

Essential Fatty Acids to lock in moisture.

Non-comedogenic.

Ingredient Spotlight

Retinaldehyde (Retinal) is a powerful derivative from the retinoid family, second only to retinoic acid in terms of effectiveness and efficiency for achieving youthful, clear skin. Thanks to its multi-functional benefits, this ingredient boosts cell turnover to reduce hyperpigmentation and acne breakouts, while also promoting collagen production and preventing collagen breakdown for a thicker, firmer complexion with reduced wrinkles. Retinaldehyde is safer and less irritating than other retinoids. To achieve these results, a minimum concentration of 0.025%* Retinaldehyde is recommended. At 0.025%, it is highly tolerable for most skin types including those with ultra-sensitive skin. Like all retinoids, it should be used at night only, due to its instability in sunlight.

Decorinyl® is a liposome tetrapeptide that mimics the structure of decorin, a protein that binds to collagen fibrils and plays a crucial role in skin repair and maintenance. As we age, the quality of decorin decreases, and this peptide can help improve this, resulting in smoother, more resilient skin.

Edelweiss Extract (Leontopodium Alpinum Extract), with its high chlorogenic acids content and unique leontopodic acid profile helps the skin resist the oxidative stress brought on by environmental aggressors and averts the natural decline of skin elasticity and dermal density to maintain a firm and lifted overall youthful appearance.

Niacinamide is important in skincare in many aspects and has many different benefits depending on its concentration in the product. At 2.5%, niacinamide improves barrier function, decreases TEWL, smoothen and brighten skin tone.

Geranylgeranyl-Isopropanol is a Nobel prize winning high-tech ingredient with compelling anti-ageing benefits for the skin. It protects the skin from oxidative stress and helps stabilise skin’s telomere length. With each skin cycle turnover, the telomere length shortens, but by maintaining telomere length, the skin can maintain its youthful complexion longer.

Directions

After cleansing, toning and hydrating the skin, apply a small amount of serum directly onto face and neck, follow with our Skin Barrier Health Moisturiser for best results.

Recommended Usage

Use only in the evening before bedtime in your skincare routine. Preferably when the skin is no longer expose to sunlight.

Sunscreen is recommended during the daytime when incorporating this serum into your routine.

It is advised to use sunscreen while using retinoids in your skincare routine, as their exfoliating properties may leave young skin more vulnerable to sunlight. Additionally, the decrease in melanin production caused by retinoid use may reduce your skin's natural protection against the sun. It is important to not only treat your skin, but also take precautions to prevent further damage. This step is crucial in achieving desired results from your skincare regimen.

Not recommended for use during pregnancy or breastfeeding.

Retinaldehyde vs Tretinoin

I've been an avid user of Tretinion for the last 4 years (and on and off for 6 years). I use Tret as part of my treatment not just for acne but also for the psoriasis spots on my face (I find my spots heal quicker when I use them in combination with my psoriasis steroid cream, then when it's gone I don't have to use the steroid cream any more (until of course it comes up again if i start trialing other products and they irritate my skin - I'm a skincare junkie). I just need to maintain my tretinoin use and it maintains my skin condition (this is not medical advise so don't take my individual result as something that will work for you if you're in the same situation - see a doctor for your condition!). Anyway, I always find that after a certain number of weeks on Tretinoin, my skin always feel tight and dry no matter what I do. In the past, I use Bondi Chic Blue Mountain Natural Spring Water Toner to hydrate my skin and that worked well, unfortunately the company is no longer so I can't get it anymore. Thankfully, I came across skincervation hydration mist which has a similar ingredient profile and its worked a treat. Anyway, thought I'd try this Retinaldehyde serum while its on sale (because which skincare junkie can resist a skincare sale!) and I find it pretty good! My skin definitely does not feel tight or lacking hydration or moisturisation with this. I actually see plumper skin. I didnt have wrinkles so I can't say if it's more effective than tret or not, but I can say that there were no down affects, i didn't get any new wrinkles just plumper, more comfortable feeling skin. It also didn't irritate my skin or cause any psoriasis breakout. I find it does have quit a strong "grass smell" to it but it quickly goes away after application.  Also, when I'm using Tret, I find that even with sunscreen on, I always feel like my face is very heated when I sit in the car on sunny days. I didn't have that sensation with the 0.075% Retinaldehyde Serum and I like how it's formulated in the same sort of creamy consistency as the Tretinoin (i like their play on word "Cerum" to reflect this). If you take notice of the medical ointments and creams, it is usually in a creamy or ointment formula and there's a reason for that, instead of those clear watery liquid stuff. I think Skincervation has their formula spot on and can't wait for a full size sale so I can grab a few of their full size products that I really like! 😉
